We should all be studying “permission marketing.” On second thought, nevermind studying it, just remember this concept real quick: (whispers) “Peeps like to be respected!” Yup. Class over. You now have a marketing degree in 21st century global industry.
That said! THIS Levi’s commercial is, in my opinion, a prime example of that kind of marketing. And, occasionally… perhaps… the odd, great filmmaker has been known to make the occasional commercial.. right?
So check it this one out:
Short and sweet.
I guess I’m sharing a lot of shorts these days cos, um, that’s kinda where I’m at. Shorts and docs. Sounds like clothing. Clothing for a movie maker!
Maybe consider (like I am) doing a “spec ad“ for some company you think rocks. Even going through the motions to research, write, storyboard, shoot, edit, and (if you actually have the guts) present your ad to said company will give you at least a semester’s worth of film school know-how. Might get you a paying gig, too!
This ad doesn’t mention Yeshua… but what if it did? Wouldn’t that be nice?
